And in my head spinning obsession: “it’s Time to go on a diet to freshen up for the summer.” Everyone wants to be attractive, but in the pursuit of beauty we often make sacrifices and rash risks. Strict diets and rapid weight loss can harm your health. Disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, gastritis and ulcers, poor condition of hair, nails, skin and even teeth, headache and dizziness, insomnia, menstrual failure, “dietary depression”, as well as improper operation of the liver and kidneys – this is only a small part of the problems that may arise due to diet.

Slimness at any cost – unfortunately, this motto sits in the heads of many women who want to lose weight. Now I will cut myself in food, I will deprive, I will keep in severity, and the result will not keep itself waiting. And happens, the pounds are melting due to restrictions, but with them disappear in a good mood and, most importantly, your health. But we think about it when it’s too late.

The most common mistake occurs when we begin to replace the concepts of “diet” and “fasting”. It’s scary! Fasting for 5-7 days, when the daily intake of calories is minimized and replaced with juices or water, can significantly worsen the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, provoke the occurrence of gastritis and ulcers, reduce immunity and lead to an oppressed mental state. Longer fasting can lead to serious diseases of the internal organs and eating disorders.

First, of course, you will feel the emotional lift and cheerfulness, as cleanse the body of toxins, but after a while there will be a difficult period of apathy. Here failing health and give the whole complex of problems: from indigestion to tremor of the limbs and insomnia. It will not take long and the failure of the menstrual cycle, as after the metabolic disorders provoked by the diet, hormonal problems will come – and this is exactly the case when the sequence is such, and not the reverse.

The same mechanism works in the case of fashionable monodiets (when all the abundance of your usual diet is replaced by one or two products: it can be kefir, rice, grapefruit, and so on). If such a diet is delayed in your life for more than a week, the consequences can be much tougher and more unpredictable. With the introduction of restrictions in your diet, you not only deprive yourself of the hated calories, but also vitamins, macro-and microelements that enter the body with food.

There are so many consequences of the monodiet that it is simply impossible to list them all. The most common and indicative horror story – calcium deficiency. It is manifested by dry skin, brittle hair and nails. If the lack of a macronutrient is observed for a long period, it affects the teeth and bones, which also lose their strength. And it threatens we have very different consequences than the loss of Shine hair and beauty nails.

Another type of fashionable diet is protein. It became popular due to the fact that it is very simple to observe it: you exclude fats and carbohydrates from your usual menu, saturating it with products rich in protein (dietary meat, cottage cheese, egg protein, fish, soy products, nuts). Hearty, delicious – do not say anything. But! If you do not regulate your water balance during the diet, in other words, drink enough water, you risk having kidney problems. And if you have already been diagnosed with such problems, then this diet is generally contraindicated for you.

Usually protein diet is designed for 2-3 weeks. Exceed this period is not necessary, as with the diligent consumption of protein, the body at some point can not cope with its amount and misfire. The most common complication — “stones” in the kidneys, and this is only the first bell, the most harmless.

How you behave after the diet is also important. And this moment many overlook. Just stop eating “diet” food and switch to your usual diet – is fraught with many problems. First of all, the gastrointestinal tract will suffer, which has already changed to a more harmless, sparing diet. And here again fried potatoes and a chicken leg. The mutiny on the ship with all the troubles due can not be avoided. The second “fall off” the liver, which will signal the bitterness appeared in the mouth. After a long abstinence from fatty foods, even a couple of grams of butter, hit the poor body like snow on the head, can provoke his wrong work.

Therefore, it is not enough just to correctly carry out a diet without exceeding the prescribed period, you need to properly withdraw your body from this state. That is why I am against diets as such. If, being “in a diet”, you live thoughts when all this will end, and I will be able to eat again favourite pizza, mother’s pies and French fries, then this fatal business. This weight loss and start is not worth it. Diet for some time is not a solution. If you really want to improve the quality of your life, to say goodbye to excess weight forever, you should start by loving yourself. And give yourself – the most beloved and the best – what you really deserve. This can be a healthy diet, exercise, walking in the fresh air, restoring order in the house, doing what you love.

After all, if your weight is not associated with metabolic disorders and diseases (which should be treated only by doctors), then you need to look for the cause in yourself, and digging deeper. Often, behind the veil of excess weight are hidden internal problems (family, personal or professional), which spur us to ensure that we do not solve them, and “jammed”. And this is the right way to nowhere. If you really want to lose weight, first of all make contact with yourself, and then think about a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. And for us, summer residents, the last point is the easiest to perform. After all, cleaning the garden after the winter, planting seedlings, weeding beds and harvesting – it’s the same fitness, only country, besides free.
