Surely almost every summer resident, and just people who have at least a small piece of land, was tempted to get a swimming pool. But the construction of the capital’s swimming pool is not easy and very expensive. And it can’t be built everywhere. What to do if there is almost no free space in the country, and you want to plunge into warm water? Especially for children who are ready to live in the pool in the summer. The solution is obvious – you can buy an inflatable pool.
But choosing it, as it turns out, is also very difficult. I will try to share with you the nuances of choosing an inflatable pool and its use.
We had only a small piece of space available in the cottage. Therefore, it was necessary to choose such a pool, so that it was successfully and conveniently located.
Pool selection
In addition to the fact that you need to correctly calculate the area of the pool (otherwise it will simply not fit in the chosen place) and determine the shape of the pool, you need to correctly estimate the height of the board (especially if you are going to fill the pool with cold water and then heat it in the sun).
Form
To place a round and square pool of the same length (for a circle-diameter), you need about the same amount of space. Thus, the area of the square pool will be larger.
This, by the way, can be not only a plus, but also a minus. Stretch out in length and you can be in a circular pool. The square will be a little longer (especially noticeable if you type the pool buckets “manually”).
Material
Alas, inflatable pools are usually not very durable, of all the pools we had for more than one season of active use, only one lived with us for a whole season. All models, regardless of the company, were made of the same materials. And if you buy a pool in a store, you can be sure that the material is not toxic and, having bathed in it, children will not get the color of the pool. The materials differ from each other in tactile sensations and density, so before buying, if possible, you need to touch different pools and choose the most pleasant tactile.
Depth
Correctly estimate the height of the board is very important when choosing an inflatable pool. If you buy a pool with very low sides — even children will be uncomfortable in it. If you buy a very deep pool, you will need a lot of water, which will then heat up for a long time. We had a swimming pool that, when fully filled, would not warm up even on the hottest days. (And we have hot days with temperatures above 40°/104°F). On the other hand, it is easier to get 2/3 of the pool with high sides than to swim in a “portable puddle” (as my eldest son called the pool with a 30 cm/1 feet side). For ourselves, we found the optimal height of 60 cm (2 feet). However, last summer I had to collect hot water from home (wait until it warms up, for a long time).
The structure of the Side
Personally, I would recommend buying a pool with a three-layer side. If even one “level” starts to deflate, the pool will remain standing, and you can continue to swim. What exactly can not be done if the side of the pool is deflated, which will be the only one. It is easy to fix the inflatable pool with a car kit with rubber patches. Degrease the puncture site, follow the instructions, apply a patch with glue and press the patch with a clip or vise for a while.
Pump
Even if you decide to buy a small pool, you need to buy a pump for it. Lungs, of course, are useful to develop, but modern swimming pools are not so easy to inflate.
The installation of the pool
Under the inflatable pool, no matter where it is installed, on the ground or, say, on a concrete platform, I would recommend something to lay.
This will allow you to fearlessly sit on the bottom of the pool at any time and will protect the bottom of the pool from scratches and punctures.
Pool filling
The inflatable pool can be filled with warm water, but you can also fill it with cold water and wait for it to warm up in the sun. It is important in this matter not to overflow above the maximum volume line (even if it seems that the pool is half empty).
Bathing
In an inflatable pool (even in a large one), you should not dive – this can result in numerous bruises.
In any pool, regardless of size, do not leave children unattended.
To sum up, we can say that the pool is wonderful . Even in a small pool, you can have a great time. And how nice it is to lie in the water on a warm summer night, leaning back on the soft side, and look at the starry sky…
