Lavender: the Beauty and Benefit

Spread the love

I will not argue about the beauty of lavender blooming, because not everyone likes it, but its useful properties are not in doubt.

Lavender, as a spice, is used in cooking in vegetable salads, added to the first and second dishes, and included in herbal teas. Infused with lavender flowers, vinegar gets a spicy aroma and serves as an additive in the preparation of sauces and salads. Lavender oil heals burns, relieves joint pain, and has a stunningly relaxing and soothing effect during massage. Tea made from dried lavender flowers relieves stress better than any potions and pills, and banishes insomnia, causing a calm, healthy sleep.

You can buy lavender at the pharmacy, or you can stock up on your own if you have it growing. Collect lavender flowers as soon as they bloom, at this time the content of essential oils in them reaches a maximum. I put the dried flowers in small bags with twine and put them in the linen closet (always in a pile of pillowcases). Underwear gets a subtle, almost imperceptible, cool and fresh fragrance. To sleep on it, as in childhood or a fairy tale, try it yourself!
