In most houses there is a usual furniture. It may be expensive and cheap, mass-produced or author’s, but it is common. Why not give up the usual sofas, chairs, tables, cabinets and beds in the country? After all, on vacation we are not familiar with everyday life, running away from their city apartments, from work, from the usual range of concerns.
Modular frameless furniture
From pillows, having the shape of a mattress, you can make a chair or a sofa, connecting them together. Such designs are multivariate: the shape and size depend on the needs and can vary, it is enough to attach or remove pillows. And easily replaceable case allows you to play with colour of furniture, making of the colorful “cubes” of my couch. And if the colors are tired, just change the cover.
Rectangular seat cushions are complemented by cushions or just small sofa cushions. And unused in the design of the sofa elements become poufs. By the way, if you put a solid table top on such a pouf pillow (for example, a wooden shield or thick glass), you will get another piece of furniture-a coffee table.
Frameless sofa can be used as a bed: enough to “spread out” specially designed for this pillow. The absence of heavy mechanisms will allow even a child to cope with this task.
Soft designs are a good option for children. There are models created specifically for children’s rooms: modules can be assembled not only a piece of furniture, but also to build a house for games.
Individual elements in these sofas and armchairs are joined together by conventional textile zippers or hook and loop fastener. Therefore, such a design can be made independently, because modern fillers for upholstered furniture is easy to find on sale.
A sack of beans
Perhaps the most popular type of furniture without a frame. They say the idea to create such a chair designer Roger Dean prompted the farmer, who sat down to rest on a bag of beans.

Polyurethane foam sofas
To frameless furniture include products made of polyurethane foam. Such sofas and chairs are not too soft, but the material allows you to do without rigid support and create any shape.
If the modular sofa is not very difficult to make on their own, the sofas and chairs of cast polyurethane foam require factory conditions. The material in liquid form is poured into a mold where it solidifies under pressure during a chemical reaction.
Futons
For European home furniture in the form of mattresses-the solution is quite modern. But for a Japanese house mattress-futon-a common piece of furniture.
A traditional Japanese house sleeps on a tatami-covered floor on a futon stuffed with cotton wool. And during the day the bedding folded and stored in a closet.
In the European version of the futon is somewhat modernized. There were sofas-futons. However, it is not quite frameless furniture. Mattress-futon is placed not directly on the floor, but on a low wooden bench, which with a simple mechanism can be turned into a chair or sofa, depending on the width of the mattress.
Slightly modified mattress-futon semicircular shape can be converted into a chair and without any frame. To do this, on the back side there are straps with “Velcro”.
In Japanese traditions there is another very convenient device — kotatsu. It is a low table in which the frame and the table top are separated from each other. The frame is covered with a futon or a thick blanket, and the top is laid countertop.
It turns out the table and heater at the same time. The modern version of kotatsu is equipped with an electric stove, located under the table top on the frame.
Previously, the electric heater was replaced by a brazier with coals in the floor niche. The brazier was used for cooking, then kotatsu was installed on top and covered with a futon, on top of which the table top was laid.
Japanese houses are not too insulated, so this design was used as a heating pad: the whole family sat around the table on the cushions for sitting, covering his feet with a futon. Roaster gave heat, which kept the blanket kotatsu.
Such a table with a blanket in Japan can be found not only in private homes, but also in trains, restaurants, stadiums and other public places. Of course, for us it is unusual to have dinner, covered with a blanket, but for a country house, for example, for gatherings in the grill house kotatsu is very suitable.
