A reliable floribunda
This group is obtained as the result of crossing hybrid tea roses with polyanthus. The name translates as “profusely blooming”. Cultivars from this group are inferior to their parents in the beauty and aroma of flowers, but they are superior to their abundant flowering and winter hardiness.
- ‘Angela’ (1984, Kordes)
Although the variety has been known for a relatively long time, it has achieved real popularity only in recent years. For our rose growers, it was just a discovery! Bright (literally) representative of the romantic direction in the selection of roses. It blooms in tight racemes of small semi-double calyx flowers with a pale pink center and a crimson reverse that resembles an Apple blossom.
Hardy, hardy, not afraid of rain. Perfectly leafy shrub up to 1.5 m high looks like a pink cloud. Extremely decorative variety, it is better to plant alone. It has a wonderful aroma of green apples. Gives 3 waves of flowering, which imperceptibly replace one another. Healthy, shiny and elegant foliage. Hardy and cold resistant variety. It grows well, is easy to cut-in short, an absolute treasure for beginners.
- ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ (1993, Meilland)
I can’t help but be excited about the merits of this variety! It is distinguished by its exceptional health and decorative appearance. The bright pink flowers at the beginning of the dissolution are shaped like nostalgic roses, which then open into neat flat bowls. They don’t burn out.
Blooms almost continuously until the deepest autumn, resistant to adverse atmospheric phenomena. Forms a tall, strong erect Bush with strong shoots. A great choice for flower beds and rose gardens. The only drawback is the lack of smell.
- ‘Pomponella’ (2005, Kordes)
The rose of the new Millennium, in the process of hybridization, received all the advantages that meet the spirit of the time — rare health, a harmonious form of the Bush, the ability to grow in breadth, healthy shiny foliage, resistance to diseases and adverse weather conditions, continuous flowering. And the most important thing that distinguishes it in the line of “girlfriends” floribund-decoration in the form of lovely balls-buds that resemble pompoms and fully justify the name.
Color-rich pink; flowers in bloom acquire a Cup-shaped shape, but do not open until the end, remaining POM-poms, but already large. This rose is difficult to confuse with another variety, it has a pronounced own “face”.
- ‘Lions-Rose’ (2002, Kordes)
This rose immediately after its appearance in the international register won thousands of fans due to its exceptional economic qualities — the beauty of large creamy-white flowers, healthy, shiny foliage, abundant and long-lasting flowering, immunity to diseases. It grows as a large shrub, like a shrub. Addressed primarily to lovers of white roses.
- ‘Home & Garden’ (2001, Kordes)
Trouble-free rose for beginners: no diseases, beautiful, healthy foliage, densely Packed pink flowers with soft pink edging in dense inflorescences. Good in arrays and borders along paths, you can plant on the front edge of the mixborder. Bushes up to 80 cm high.
Of the one and a half hundred varieties growing in my garden, all the listed varieties have shown themselves to be the best. They were selected not only for their beauty and decorativeness, but also for their economic qualities — resistance to diseases, winter hardiness, and the ability to bloom profusely and for a long time. I am sure that they will not disappoint you!
