Mountain ash is probably familiar to each of us from childhood. The bright red bunches of its berries are one of the distinguishing features of autumn.

Due to the high content of vitamins (ascorbic acid, carotene, vitamins P and K), mountain ash fruits serve as raw materials for the prevention and treatment of beriberi, and are also used as a tonic, immunostimulating agent. They are used to prepare decoctions, infusions, tinctures; rowan berries are part of various vitamin collections and teas.

Collect ripe berries, breaking off the brush; then the collected raw materials are cleaned from twigs and stems, the damaged berries are removed and dried at a temperature of +60…+80 degrees (140-176°F). If you do not have time to prepare the rowan, and the brushes are already frozen, they can be stored frozen and used in the same way as dried.

The use of rowan fruits is contraindicated in hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer on the background of increased acidity of gastric juice, hypotension (low blood pressure), exacerbation of urolithiasis. In the presence of severe cardiovascular diseases, it is recommended to consult a doctor before using folk remedies based on mountain ash.
