Clematis have been growing in our garden for many years, and we can enjoy the beautiful flower arches . The place for them was very good from the very beginning: a lot of light, protected from the wind. To make small shoots lie on the ground, just drive in the stakes and stretch the thread. Then pull the thread further and further, creating the desired ornament and by the end of summer we will have a real arch of flowers over the entrance to the garden.
I also remind you that there must be about 20 centimeters (7.9 inch) between the wall and him, otherwise he may die…
It’s a pity that it turned out to be a blurry photo… Because the flowers are amazingly beautiful. In total, we have only 2 colors so far: purple and white. They grow next to each other perfectly. Purple clematis:
At the base of the clematis, you can plant low-growing plants. They will protect the soil from drying out, because in direct sunlight, plants can suffer from thirst.
Propagate clematis by layering or dividing bushes.
Clematis like fertile, moderately fertilized and loose soils. What they don’t like is peat and fresh manure. Again, I didn’t do much experimenting, although we have a lot of peat.
The flowering period is quite long, so they will please you even in autumn.
