Probably, no one needs to explain why a strong immune system is so important. When the next seasonal wave of colds and flu comes, even those who did not remember them before think about strengthening the body’s defenses — no one wants to get sick.
And it is not difficult to make sure that a good immune system really protects. Look around: both at work, and at the child in the classroom or in kindergarten, there are certainly those who seem to be bypassed by viruses. Everyone sneezes and coughs — but they don’t care. Maybe they know the word magic? No, it’s just that the body’s defense is strong, it works perfectly, it neutralizes virus attacks. Is that what you want? Then go ahead!
Is there a miracle pill for immunity?
It would be great to drink some medicine or swallow a pill — and that’s all, the immune system is fine. Of course, the idea is tempting, but it does not happen. The immune system is a very complex, multi-level mechanism, all parts of which should ideally be balanced. As soon as the balance is disturbed — any link is damaged — the whole system begins to work incorrectly. And unfortunately, it is often not easy to return it to normal.
Serious immune disorders require treatment, which should be prescribed by a doctor-folk methods are not suitable here. Fortunately, most of us don’t need drastic measures. We are quite capable of independently helping our body, supporting and strengthening the immune system-believe me, everyone has everything necessary for this.
But it won’t be easy. To believe in the miraculous effect of any one-time measures or “magic” drugs, at least, is naive. Strengthening and protecting the immune system is a daily work on yourself. There’s no other way.
Means to strengthen the immune system, available to everyone
The body is somewhat like a clock. All know: if the watch is dipped in water — they will break; if the electronic mechanism of the battery — it will not work; got in a grain of sand — device function will be broken. In the same way, the work of our body is influenced by various external and internal factors. Our task is to learn how to manage them for your own benefit.
I’ll tell you right away: I probably won’t tell you anything new. But I know one thing for sure: everything that will be discussed really works. Tested on yourself. Chronic lack of sleep is one of the main factors of weakening the immune system. In a dream, there are important and necessary processes for the body, which we violate, sacrificing sleep for the sake of work, another computer toy or a new movie. You can swallow immunostimulating drugs as much as you want — with a systematic lack of sleep, at best, all efforts will be in vain. At worst, you will achieve rapid wear and tear of your own body.
Movement and fresh air
Yes, that’s so corny. But if you spend the whole day in the office at the computer, and the evening-at home in front of the TV, you can not talk about a healthy immune system. Here you can write a lot — but is it necessary? So much has already been said about this that it is even somewhat shameful to repeat it. Just remember: if you want to have a strong immune system, move.
Fitness in the gym is good, any physical activity in the fresh air is even better. And always — regularly. For example, taking large doses of vitamin A can cause problems in the gastrointestinal tract, serious disorders of the nervous system, menstrual irregularities in women and other unpleasant consequences.
Now, for the prevention of hypovitaminosis (vitamin deficiency, which leads, among other things, to a weakening of the immune system), it is recommended to first balance your diet. Eating mainly dumplings, hamburgers and pizza, washing down all this with soda or beer, it is strange to dream of good immunity and good health, you will agree.
Strengthen the immune system contribute to:
- raw vegetables, berries and fruits (especially citrus fruits), as well as fresh juices from them;
- spicy vegetables (garlic, onion, horseradish) and herbs;
- nuts (especially walnuts and almonds);

Well, finally got to the favorite recipes of many. Yes, they also really help. But I want to warn those who missed the previous points, considering them unimportant and unnecessary: you can’t support immunity with just “herbs”. These tools do not work if you use them without changing your lifestyle.
Remember also that any medicinal plants require long-term use. Usually folk remedies to increase immunity are taken in courses, from a single use of any decoction or tincture of the desired effect you will not get. And of course, do not forget about possible contraindications.
That harms our immune system
It also happens that all efforts, all measures to strengthen immunity do not bring results. Or the result is there, but clearly insufficient. Why? As a rule, because there are still numerous other factors that weaken the body’s defenses.
It is clear that not everything can be changed. So, scientists say that permanent residence in cities with high population density is a serious risk factor for the immune system. But not everyone can and wants to move from the metropolis to a quiet sparsely populated village. And yet, to exclude many circumstances that negatively affect the immune system, most of us can.
Here is a list of the main enemies of immunity (we are already familiar with some of them, but it is useful to repeat them):
- prolonged stress;
- overwork, severe physical, mental and mental stress;
- poor environmental conditions;
- contact with various toxic substances (for example, working in a hazardous production facility);
