Border of flowering or evergreen plants looks natural and at the same time makes the object original and interesting. What representatives of flora are worthy to be in the forefront on this “front”?

  • Choose for the first row only those types and varieties of green “Pets” that remain compact and grow slowly, or those that tolerate pruning. Otherwise, the lovingly grown fence will soon simply obscure the “puffy” favorites in the flower garden.

The traditional border plant was and remains Buxus. And of course, spicy herbs like lavender, santolin and Helichrysum, if you don’t forget to cut them regularly, stay in shape for as long as possible. By the way, these odorous plants will also help to scare off pests from the main characters of the plantings.

  • Beautiful leaves, however, only until the first frost, captivate Heuchera, host, Bergenia and Alchemilla vulgaris. In addition, they all grow well and in shady corners.
  • Cushion-shaped herbaceous perennials are perfect for framing Sunny flower beds. If you cut them immediately after flowering, flowers will retain their compactness.
  • Like diversity? We recommend to choose for the edging of plantings annuals — they will allow each year to experiment with the”frame”.

Fragrant idea for the garden

Along the perimeter of the flower garden in the form of a clover four-leaf low hedge stretches from Lavandula angustifolia ‘Blue Cushion’ — a compact densely leafy shrub up to 35 cm with silvery leaves (blooms in June-July). Plants need to be planted with the calculation of 4-5 copies per running meter. Important: every spring spicy stems are shortened by a third and re-cut in the summer after flowering (dried inflorescences are cut off over the third pair of leaves).
