Trampling is the main problem of the lawn
The lawn, no matter how hard you try, is afraid of trampling. The ground under it is compacted, the aeration of the root system of grasses is disrupted, they disappear, and mosses appear instead. Now there are special chemicals that destroy mosses. This, of course, is fine, but I think not everyone will dare to water their lawns with chemicals. And he will be right!
Aerating
There is a simple and safe way for the environment to make the mosses disappear by themselves. We are talking about piercing problem areas. I have for these purposes in the economy there are special “Slippers” to the sole of which are attached sharp and quite long spikes. You put them on over your sneakers and go, trampling until your feet get tired. Then you pass the baton to your husband.
I think it was the British who invented such a device for lawn care as an aerator. This is a rotating shaft with teeth, with which you need to walk along and across your land, and the teeth will do their job. The work is hard — you can only trust men. Modern industry also offers more convenient equipment. These are electric and gasoline aerators, scarifiers and verticutters. You can buy devices that combine 2 in 1 or even 3 in 1.
Sanding up
In the fight for the perfect lawn, such a technique as sanding is used. In England, I visited a private garden where the owner was doing this on his grass court: evenly distributed piles of sand with a metal mesh. This method allows you to level the ground level, because the grasses usually grow up, they bulge. Sand, in addition, serves as a material for drainage: rainwater leaves better and does not stagnate on the surface.
Paving
What other recipe for trampling? Just pave the well-trodden, familiar paths. The same applies to badminton courts, barbecue facilities, and evening gatherings with friends.
Lawn requires care
You should know that the lawn requires constant care. In the spring, it should be combed with special fan rakes with thin “tendrils”, from time to time to feed (according to the instructions!). If you exceed the dose, it can be elementary to burn a real hole will gape to the middle of the summer. To give the lawn an ideal look, you should regularly beat the boundaries with a special sickle-shaped blade, which again was invented by the British.

When low, there is a danger of shaving it to the ground, which is undesirable. By the way, those who use a trimmer often cut the grass almost to zero, thereby causing great harm.
There is another version of the lawn device – “expensive”. This is when the owners of the site want to get a ready-made lawn, without “bothering” especially with the bookmark according to all the rules. You will be brought rolled-up ready-made herbal mats — and put in a new place. But such a “surrogate” lawn at first will require increased attention — it will need to be watered often in order to take root well. Often bring over-dried rolls that are difficult to get out. Ready to spend? Then this option is for you.
The flip side of lawn fashion
As for the classic English lawns, I must say that the fashion for them in Britain itself is fading. If earlier, 20 years ago, you would not have found an uncut curb or lawn in a Park, then in recent years the pendulum has swung in the other direction. Total haircut has led to the fact that some insects began to disappear in the country, the population of birds began to decline, bees and bumblebees suffer. However, pests take over, especially aphids, and ladybirds that feed on it have disappeared.
To fight diseases and pests invent new and new “effective” means — chemistry everywhere and everywhere. Entire communities of snails and other creatures that make up the diversity of the natural world have disappeared. The English caught on, though too late. Now, wherever possible, they leave Islands of untrimmed vegetation.
We, following in the fairway of world civilization, risk stepping on the same rake. Have you heard the latest news? The number of sparrows — cheerful and cheerful companions of man-has sharply decreased. The whole point is that in attempts to “Europeanize” the servants of cleanliness, following the orders of incompetent leaders, completely destroy the food base of sparrows — totally cut the grass, nettle thickets in yards, parks and squares. Sparrows, according to ornithologists, literally have nothing to feed their Chicks with. This practice threatens to harm the environmental health of a large city.
It is known fact, what ended the fight with the sparrows in China. For some reason, they decided that these birds eat too much grain, and set out to destroy them. All of China, as if on cue, went out to the fields with rattles, not letting the birds sit down, and they fell dead to the ground. How did it end? The country was attacked by hordes of rats. Biologists can explain to you professionally why this happened, but the result was exactly like this.
We, given the sad, in General, English experience, should be more careful in trying to create the perfect lawn. In the secluded corners of the garden, you should still leave areas of natural biocenosis, do not cut everything “from fence to fence”.
