Do not throw away the old washing machine. A few details from it can be very useful in the country economy. To begin with, an old washing machine can be sold on the secondary market of household appliances, even if it is broken. But you will agree, sometimes you are ready to give an old car just for pickup. And in this case, the junk dealers come, take the car and immediately pay.
However, from the details of the washing machine, you can make many useful things for the cottage. A particularly valuable part for making crafts is the drum from the washing machine. I’ve collected a few ideas.
Portable barbecue
The first option is to make a portable grill out of a drum like this.
We drill the screws on which the drum is attached, because it is impossible to unscrew them. We wash off the scale from the drum with vinegar.
From an old water pipe, we cut the blanks for the legs of the grill.
We remove the rust from the workpieces. It is convenient to make a grinder by installing a nozzle with a metal brush on it. We weld the fragments of the legs and paint them with heat-resistant paint.
The grille is bolted to the metal corner. The corner is welded to a steel rod. The rod is inserted into the pipe-leg. The rod is fixed in the pipe with a bolt. A nut is welded into the pipe, and the bolt fixes the position of the grid. The grate can be raised to the desired height and fixed.
The grill is ready. We load the firewood — we light the fire. There are many holes in the drum, and the air flows perfectly, providing active burning of firewood.
We move the grill to the fire and fry the delicious meat.
Stationary grill
This is the second version of the grill-grill from the drum of the washing machine.
For such a grill, you need to cast a ring out of concrete, in which the drum will fit. The inner diameter of the ring is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the drum. We make a formwork or a mold for pouring from hardboard. So that it does not deform under the weight of concrete, we strengthen it with scraps of the board. We twist the shape with screws.
The drum from the washing machine can be pre-painted with thermal paint.
The concrete ring must be carefully rolled to the place of installation of the grill. Inside the ring, you need to remove the turf and pour a layer of gravel.
A table on wheels
If you cross a washing machine and a broken office chair, you will get a stylish table on wheels.
We shorten the chassis with a grinder from a broken office chair. In all firms, the caretaker always has the necessary stock of old chairs.
We cut out a couple of circles from plywood. One is according to the inner diameter of the drum, the other is slightly larger than the outer diameter.
We connect the circles with screws. Then we glue the metal cover.
We connect the chassis to the drum with a long bolt.
Install the lid. It turned out to be a table with a storage space inside. You can also sit on the table — it will make a stool.
