Polymers to help us
Perhaps, the most ideas for markers are still made of polymer clay. This is understandable: although the material is not cheap, but it does not require much, it can be of various colors, after baking it is not afraid of either water or the sun!
You can not paint at all or limit yourself to a minimum of painting, all the same, the products will look original, and in the literal sense of the word.
In general, there are sets of cliches for applying patterns, but won’t we find a way out of the situation?! Buttons, fragments of costume jewelry (brooches, earrings, etc.) parts of dried plants-prints will turn out no worse than from factory stamps!
The days of modeling from plasticine are long gone, but the skills remain, I tell you for sure. In any case, everyone will be able to depict leaves and eyes.
Of course, the signatures made by cliches look beautiful, but there are factory forms for units. And the others? Alternatively, you can use the font from an old typewriter, carefully write the letters with a toothpick or a small screwdriver with a narrow tip (point indentations to eliminate burrs).
If you want to add bright colors to the garden, take colored plastic. By the way, there is even one that glows in the dark!
After refreshing your forgotten skills a little, you can easily fashion a company of big-eyed vegetables. If it doesn’t work out yet, leave this exciting activity until the winter holidays. Look how good simple bright markers are, it will not be difficult to make them!
And if the modeling goes like clockwork, take a closer look at these wonderful ideas, perhaps some will look good in your garden.
Mushrooms do not belong in the beds, but you can make an exception for these: they will definitely behave modestly and will not cause unnecessary trouble.
Cheerful worms in flirty hats will surely attract relatives to the beds, if only out of curiosity, to see what kind of dandies have appeared in our region?!
It’s impossible to demonstrate all the crafts made of polymer clay, but I’ll show you a couple more, I can’t wait! And then let’s go further: other ideas are waiting for their turn to appear to you in all their glory.
All together
Since the ingenuity of gardeners is boundless, and the size of the article is limited, I had to moderate my appetite (although I wanted to show everything-everything!) and take ideas individually.
Everyone can make an original marker from a wire. Take not too thin, otherwise it will be difficult to see the tag, and made of soft metal — aluminum, copper. Look how great it turns out!
I would never have guessed to use fragments of ceramic pots as markers. But it turned out interesting!
We did everything from wine corks, they will also be useful for garden markers. As a support, you can take disposable skewers for barbecue or unnecessary forks.
Plastic fly swatches (preferably new ones that have not yet been used for their intended purpose) can also be adapted for garden signs. And even such a seemingly useless trifle as a coil, after a light upgrade, will turn into a practical thing.
A little imagination, a minimum of paint, and instead of the usual bottles and cans, very original markers are ready to go to the beds. They do not care about the sun and rain, but be careful during weeding: the glass vessels will not survive a well-done blow with a hoe.
Did you find a box of old toys in the attic? Great, let’s see what can be useful for markers. For example, animal figures.
Here are such elegant markers will turn out from plastic beads for children’s creativity. I liked the idea, and there are such beads somewhere, but there was no desire to rummage through several huge boxes with toys in their search.
There are a lot of ideas for plates depicting vegetables, and in a variety of execution techniques-from applications on plastic to drawings on plywood and even stained glass windows!
In principle, a marker can be made from almost anything (within reasonable limits, of course), the options of the source materials are inexhaustible!
Garden vintage
I know that many summer residents really like this style, so I will be happy to share with you the most beautiful finds. That’s where rust, uneven edges and cracked paint from time (or artificially) is a virtue, not a disadvantage!
The simpler and more original the plate will turn out, the better! Old parcel boxes, unnecessary shelves from cabinets or roughly processed wooden slats are just what you need!
And here are some stylish options made of polymer clay. I would love to decorate my beds with any of them, if not for one obstacle — the problem of choice.
The vintage section is completed by a stunningly beautiful group of markers, which I can’t look at indifferently — the pens are itching to make, and there is no time for creativity right now…
Personally, such signs seem to me to be mourning: it seems that they are not on the beds, but in the places where plants are buried. I would not like to see such things in my garden for anything, but everyone has different tastes! Perhaps they will cause quite positive associations for you.
Perhaps it’s time to sum up: naturally, I was not able to show you all the options found, but this is not necessary. The main thing is to point in the right direction, and then your own ideas will not take long to wait, right?
