The First Peonies

The first bud on the largest pylon in my garden has finally opened! :)) And even if it is an ordinary pink flower, even if it is not very large — I am glad to see it and I am in a hurry to share this joy with my friends! Here it is, my first peony of the season.

The bush is profusely covered with buds, but they are in no hurry to bloom. This is for the best: let this pleasure last as long as possible. Still slowly, without distraction, to admire each flower, to inhale its fragrance, to observe how it lives… and in the evening, the flower closes for rest.

By the way, I was again curious to see how true it is that spring transplanting of peonies seriously inhibits their growth and development. Of course, the “purity of the experiment” is very relative: I do not know the varieties of those plants that were found in the garden, the timing of their flowering. But I can see that the transplanted bushes have formed buds, and some of them are already preparing to open:

Therefore, the permissibility of spring transplanting and division of the peony can be considered confirmed, I believe. And judging by the color of the bud, soon I will see a gorgeous sight-a dark red peony.
