An unfading classic
- ‘Paul’s Scarlet’
Ancient variety, recently celebrated its centenary (it was registered in 1916). Over the years, has gained immense popularity in the countries of the Old and New World. This is a classic Rambler, blooming once on last year’s shoots, which should be preserved in the winter. Flowering is long, up to 1.5 months.

- ‘New Dawn’
An outstanding climbing rose, bred by American breeders in 1930. In terms of winter hardiness and endurance, there is hardly any other variety comparable to it.

Rose grows quickly to a height of 3 m, flexible lashes constantly covered with flowers all summer long. Can winter with little or no shelter, just under the snow. If it freezes in the harsh winter, it is easily restored.
Place this rose should not be in the open sun, and in the rarefied shade: in this case, the flowers do not fade and last longer. The whip is better to tie up, so as not to stick out in different directions, and the Bush to plant either in the background mixborder at the fence, to which the rose can be tied, or at the Western wall of the house. The only drawback – a very prickly disposition of the “old woman”, but for the sophistication and resilience of her much can be forgiven.
- ‘The Fairy’
Charming variety (1932). Represents a group of old-fashioned polyanthus roses and remains the most popular and widespread in the world due to its fantastic unpretentiousness and abundant continuous flowering. Extreme ease in culture, winter hardiness, excellent landscape qualities put this rose on a par with other outstanding varieties.

Does not need to remove the faded shoots, as the next year they will bloom again. Quite easy to fit under cover and confidently tolerates even the most severe frosts. It is noticed that it lives longer as a root, so it is better to propagate by cuttings.

This, in my opinion, is a short list of the best varieties of roses available now to our gardener. Frankly, I had a difficult task to select the most worthy of the huge number of varieties offered on the market. I admit that someone may not agree with this choice, someone has their own favorites. But all the proposed roses have been tested among a hundred and fifty varieties growing in my garden, and were selected not so much by beauty (and they are all beautiful, ugly roses just do not happen), but by the ease of culture and its economic qualities – resistance to disease, winter hardiness, the ability to bloom profusely and long. Anyway, I can vouch for them and I’m sure they won’t disappoint you!
