Sometimes the cat’s plant predilections are fraught with serious losses in the garden. The reason – in the craving of all cats without exception to certain smells that exude roots and other parts of certain plants.
These smells remind cats of the flavors of “love enzymes”. This similarity does not give many plants any chance to survive in the garden, if there are cats nearby. With irrepressible zeal, sharp claws dig up the roots of Actinidia and Schisandra. Nepeta landings can sometimes look as if they were walked on by a road roller: it’s nice to be a friendly cat company, rolling from side to side, rolling from the top to the tip of the tail in a sea of amazing smell! In these classes, your cat will be happy to join the neighbors, as such smells spread over quite long distances. Love for Valerian is not even worth talking about – a fact known to the child.
But, dear gardeners, be vigilant! Our flower collections are constantly expanding, and cats have new opportunities in this regard. In the list of unlucky I had Penstemon, which never got into my garden, was given to friends. When I brought the flower to the house a few days before the intended planting, the cat literally chased it. I had to part (with the plant, of course).
If it is impossible to refuse a certain plant, you should carefully consider how to protect it from cat harassment (with a grid, boards), and do it as beautifully as possible.
Otherwise, the theme of cats and plants is very fertile, even artistic. Both of them bring an aesthetic zest to the garden, a special atmosphere of inspiration and relaxation. Well, where you can relax, you can also make a little joke. Therefore, take some advice from me regarding future fashion trends:
- white-breasted and white-footed cats will look great against the background of Asian lilies ‘Alaska’ and ‘Navona’, perhaps their combination with blooming later Eastern hybrids;
- tricolor cats perfectly complement the thickets of lilies varieties ‘Gran Crue’ and ‘Nova Cento’, make them a variety;
- the sight of a sleeping smoky cat under the bushes of Phlox lilac shades will give the composition romance and may cause the owners to have poetic impulses;
- wandering under the shadow of large ferns, a white furry creature that looks like a Ghost in the twilight will awaken a sense of mystery and mystery;
- special attention should be paid to shrubs and trees;
- an unforgettable impression is made by a steel-colored mighty cat lying on the curiously curved branches of the Sorbus;
- unable to get down from a tall slender birch, a red-haired, disheveled cat with a bright red screaming mouth is a bold and even shocking idea;
- a Persian cat with an ornate Arabesque tail, dozing on top of a rocky hill surrounded by Campanula garganica and a carpet of various types of sedums, is a theme that gives rise to fairy-tale fantasies.
