Denim, as it turned out, is to the taste of many, and a variety of crafts from it invariably find fans. But in the last collection dedicated to this topic, there was no place for Christmas decorations left — they only had to be mentioned in passing. And I promised that we would return to this topic later. Well, now it’s time to fulfill your promise.
What can you do for the New Year and Christmas from old jeans? It turns out that almost everything! From the Christmas tree to the Christmas wreath, from Christmas toys to Santa Claus figures and snowmen. Don’t you believe it? See for yourself…
Denim Christmas trees
Well, not exactly Christmas trees, to be honest… More like Christmas trees. But how beautiful and original! We decorate them with lace, beads, tinsel, ribbons… And who said that a denim outfit is working, not elegant?
Even if there are only scraps of old jeans left — everything went to other crafts – there will definitely be enough for the Christmas tree! After all, fabrics can also be combined. And another plus — these models are much easier to perform than the previous ones.
And from scraps of lace or bright fabrics, it is easy to make almost real Christmas stars and garlands for your Christmas tree. There was a simple, inconspicuous pyramid-it became a real festive tree!
The main thing is to stop in time: this activity is addictive… Although, if the material is enough, it is quite possible to make a Christmas tree and not one-and yourself, and friends, and colleagues, and relatives … The same or different — as you want.
In principle, there are ideas not only for small desktop Christmas trees, but also for “full-scale”ones. Only they are more avant-garde than traditional-I’m not sure that such a “New Year’s tree” will appeal to everyone…
However, why not? In a student dorm or at a youth New Year’s party, such an extravagant Christmas tree will be quite appropriate, do you agree? Here, perhaps, the most difficult thing is to make a suitable foundation. Well, then-a matter of technology.
Christmas tree toys
If there’s a Christmas tree, there should be toys, right? And even if there is no Christmas tree, toys are still needed — you can hang them on the windows, make garlands out of them, fix them in the doorway… And of course, denim is perfect for such a decor, do not even doubt it!
The simplest jewelry can be made together with children — at the same time, a daughter or granddaughter can be taught to sweep the edges and make simple embroidery.
The material for such crafts needs just a little bit, their production will also not take much time, and the effect is wonderful! We combine fabrics, use beads, sequins, bright braid, lace — everything your heart desires!
What will it be — Christmas trees, stars, hearts, houses, bears, snowflakes? Choose according to your taste. See how interesting and stylish the Christmas tree looks in denim stars:
Don’t want the toys to be the same? No problem! This is your Christmas tree-so it’s up to you to decide what to hang on it.
A more difficult idea is to make denim balls. Here you will need a base, which can be used as foam blanks for crafts or cheap Christmas balls.
The easiest way, probably, is to “band up” the blank with narrow strips of denim, and then decorate it with braid, buttons or beads. To the “aerobatics” I would probably refer to the ball, completely covered with denim roses — here you need a lot of patience, and skill.
Christmas Angels
These figures are also traditionally decorated at home during the holidays. Would you say that an angel can’t wear jeans? It can! Here, please, see:
Do you doubt, do you think that such crafts will be difficult to repeat? Well, there are very simple options that are easy to implement, even if there is very little time left to create the decor.
In the end, the main thing is the idea! If you have nothing against Christmas angels in denim outfits, choose an image to your taste and create.
Snowmen and Santa Claus
Well, what a New Year without these characters! And even if winter does not spoil the snow, as it is now, we can always “make” a snowman from improvised materials. And if you have old jeans at hand, then here’s what you can get out of it:
And there is nothing difficult in making such a toy with your own hands! By the way, a cheerful snowman is a good New Year’s gift.
In the same way you can make a Santa Claus:
I think he looks no worse in an unusual suit than in a traditional one. And it’s definitely more convenient to deliver gifts in a denim jumpsuit! By the way, about gifts…
Bag of Santa Claus and Christmas boots
No, this time we won’t talk about what gifts can be made from old jeans. Let’s see how these gifts can be presented (using the same jeans, of course).
Sew a simple bag-it’s quick and easy. Decorate it with embroidery or applique, lace or braid — and the packaging is ready for a small Christmas gift. And from small elegant bags you will get an original Advent calendar. Now, however, it is already too late to do it… But there will be another year!
How do you feel about the Christmas boot? It often serves as just an element of festive decor, and you can also put a small gift in it. And see what fancy boots for the whole family come out of old jeans!
Christmas Wreath
Yes, not everyone likes this attribute. However, in many homes it has taken root, so the idea has a right to exist. But to be honest, it never occurred to me that a Christmas wreath could also be made with denim.
Unusual, unexpected, but if you decide to organize a “denim” New Year, then this version of the decor may well come in handy.
