Having once again advised the users of the site to combine plants in the composition, I decided to prepare this material as an auxiliary tool. After reading the theory, you will be able to apply new knowledge in practice – for harmonious design in the near future.
Decorative plant compositions are pleasing to the eye and uplifting. And how nice it can be to have groups of plants in pots or vases that are attractive throughout the season on your plot, balcony or veranda.
But let’s pay attention not only to the lush petunia, geranium or delicate lobelia, but also to those plants that are notable for their foliage. They can be no less decorative, especially complementing each other or, conversely, contrasting in color or shape.
Representatives of different genera and species were selected for this composition. All of them are quite unpretentious and hardy, get along well with each other and successfully correlate in size.
For planting in pots with a volume of 5-6 liters, low varieties of geyser and variegated hosta are suitable. The vertical accent creates a Lolium. Its peculiarity is that this plant has a shallow root system, on which small thickenings (corms) form closer to the surface, so later the bush will be easy to divide. A young squat will balance the composition.
The host is landed first.
Then comes the ornamental grass (lolium). Next, gahara is placed next to the already planted plants. At the end of the foreground is a shallow Sempervivum plant.
A great helper for every flower lover will be everything you need to care for ornamental plants: a small rake, a scoop, scissors, pruning shears and a brush that is convenient to clean with a scoop cover.
This composition will not lose its decorative effect throughout the season. The space between the plants can be filled with decorative materials, such as colored sawdust or stones, which are sold in flower shops.
