Winter has finally come into its own: the annoying autumn rains have been replaced by snowfalls. A young snowball pleases the heart, cheerfully creaks under your feet, circles in the air…
However, sometimes he falls asleep so much that in the morning it is difficult to open the front door, get to the gate, and the morning “digging” of the car takes a decent amount of time.
With the onset of winter, homeowners and owners of dacha plots, as well as many “homeless” citizens, have an important task-to clear the territory adjacent to the house from snow. How to make it fast, efficient, and fun? We know as many as five proven ways to get rid of snow in the yard, which we want to share with you.
Method 1: take a shovel in your hands…
First of all, of course, we remove the snow in the old proven way – we rake and discard it with a shovel. The work is not easy, it takes a lot of time and effort. When cleaning freshly fallen snow, use a light shovel, but in particularly snowy times it is better to use a scraper (a subspecies of a shovel with a wide blade). Working with it is much easier: the scraper moves the snow to the side, and does not throw it away like a shovel. But there is one significant disadvantage – the scraper is not suitable for clearing narrow paths.
Method 2: Collective creativity
An unusual, perhaps long, but the most fun way to clear snow is to spend time in a snow – covered yard with children or friends, namely, to do modeling from snow. Combine, so to speak, the pleasant with the useful.
And while Dad and the kids are making a snowman, building a castle and playing snowballs, Mom is preparing a New Year’s dinner. This method will not only diversify your leisure time and help clear the territory of snow, but also decorate it with interesting sculptures. With a little more hard work, you can even build and fill a real slide for sledding.
Method 3: Clearing snow with a blower
This method is gaining more and more popularity among summer residents and motorists. The blower is a universal unit that will help to clear the area in winter and blow away the freshly fallen snow from your car. The convenient and efficient hand blowers needed to perform such work are ideal for private users. And with the help of knapsack equipment, which distributes the load on the operator, such blowers are convenient to use for cleaning in hard-to-reach places, for example, to remove snow from the roof.
Method 4: Using a snow thrower
This is the most common and easy way to clear the area of snow. Its use in small suburban areas is especially important. This method does not require physical effort: spread the reagent – and wait for the snow to melt. Everything would be fine, but this method has a significant disadvantage: it is expensive both in terms of time and in terms of finances. It is also worth remembering that toxic salts are most often added to the reagent, which, in contact with the skin and mucous membranes, can harm health. In addition, the chemical treatment of the paths clogs the soil – it becomes less fertile. Therefore, the chemical method is more often used in city courtyards than in dachas.
